HAGLEY OVAL

Welcome to Hagley Oval Christchurch New Zealand

Hagley Oval is a cricket ground located on South Hagley Park in the central city of Christchurch a short walk from Antigua Boatsheds.
The first recorded match on the ground was in 1867 when Canterbury cricket team hosted Otago cricket team, although a game is said to have been played there in 1851.

Christchurch Hagley Park

Hagley Park has been at the heart of Christchurch since the 1850s when it was set aside for the enjoyment of Christchurch residents.
Our Park was named after Hagley Park, the country estate of Lord Lyttelton, who became chairman of the Canterbury Association in March 1850.
Today, it is the most significant central city park, offering a diverse range of entertainment and recreational facilities close to the city centre.

Lancaster Park Christchurch

Lancaster Park was named after Benjamin Lancaster, the first owner of the land.
Many years later as sponsorship took hold it become known as Jade Stadium then AMI Stadium, was the main sports stadium in Christchurch and home to the successful rugby team the Crusaders.
The stadium was closed because of the severe damage sustained during the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake and has now been demolished, but remembered by many.
