Christchurch Fire Service is part of Region 4 of the New Zealand Fire Service. 

Region 4 is the largest Fire Service Region in the country. It’s also one of the most geographically diverse. We have nine metropolitan stations and 95 volunteer stations across the region.

The population is as diverse as the geography. The Region includes one of New Zealand’s largest cities and some of the country’s smallest and most remote communities.

Firefighters are a mix of volunteers and fulltime staff with the volunteers making up the largest number. These people give of their free time to help ensure community safety.
