Otukaikino Track Christchurch New Zealand

The track is divided into four sections and linear walks can be created around these to suit individual needs.
The main entry points are Darroch Street Reserve, The Groynes dog park, Clearwater Resort and Roto Kohatu Reserve.

Starting from Darroch Street, the track makes its way through the countryside before coming to the dog park in The Groynes. Be aware that because of the popularity of the park there may be dogs loose on the walking track.

Follow the track as it passes through the various picnic areas of the leafy and peaceful Groynes - take a snack to break up the walk and enjoy watching the river meander through the park. Continue on the track as it takes you past a number of stunning lakes and through to Clearwater Resort. Take care crossing the road and walking through the car park.

From Clearwater Resort, the track passes through denser bush and newly planted native shrubs until it meets the river again. Continue past farmland and follow the river until the track veers off towards the glistening lakes of Roto Kohatu. Take a moment to enjoy the scenery, this popular Christchurch recreational area hosts a number of water sport enthusiasts using jet skis and motor boats on any given day.

Once past the lakes, head up a small hill to finish off in Roto Kohatu Reserve.
The car park is a short walk down to the right.
